Ah, brunch. The meal that lets you sleep in and still eat like royalty. As a twenty-something-year-old, itโs basically the only thing I spend my money onโwell, that and rent, but letโs be honest, brunch is the priority.
And when it comes to brunch, Dublin has no shortage of incredible spots to indulge in everything from perfectly poached eggs to pancakes so good theyโll bring a tear to your eye.
So, if youโre looking for the best restaurants in Dublin for brunch, Iโve got you covered.
Whether youโre craving something sweet, savoury, or a mix of both, these brunch restaurants in Dublin will not disappoint.
Here are five spots that serve up some of the best mid-morning feasts in town:
Top five brunch restaurants in Dublin:
Slice, Stoneybatter
Hidden away in the effortlessly cool neighborhood of Stoneybatter, Slice is the kind of spot that makes you want to move to the area just to be within walking distance of their brunch. This cozy little cafรฉ prides itself on using top-quality Irish ingredients sourced from small local suppliers, which means everything is fresh, seasonal, and utterly delicious.
Letโs talk about their pancakes. They are, without a doubt, some of the best pancakes in Dublin. Light, fluffy, and generously topped with all sorts of goodness, theyโre the kind of thing you think about long after youโve left. And if youโre more of a savoury brunch person, their spiced sausage scramble is delicious. Plus, if you fancy a post-brunch stroll, youโre just a short walk from Phoenix Parkโa great spot to pretend you're working off the calories before heading home for a nap.
Tang, Dawson Street, Abbey Street & Cumberland Place
Tang is what happens when Middle Eastern flavours meet Irish produceโand the result is magic. Originally, their Dawson Street location was so tiny you practically had to fight for a table. Thankfully, theyโve expanded, and now you can enjoy their incredible food without having to elbow someone out of the way.
Their all-day weekend brunch in Dublin is legendary. Their shakshuka? Perfection. Spicy, saucy, and served with fresh sourdough to mop up every last drop. Their Turkish eggs? Life-changing. Creamy, garlicky yoghurt topped with perfectly poached eggs and a drizzle of chili butterโbasically, happiness on a plate.
I once worked dangerously close to their Cumberland Place location, and letโs just say my bank account suffered. But was it worth it? Absolutely.
Angelinaโs, Baggot Street
If youโre looking for a slightly fancier brunch in Dublin, Angelinaโs is your spot. Whether youโre catching up with friends, having a boozy brunch, or just in the mood for some serious indulgence, this place has it all. The interior is stunning (think classy yet cozy), and their terrace overlooking the canal is a dream on a sunny day.
Now, letโs talk about those pancakes. Angelinaโs pancakes are iconic. Weโre talking thick, fluffy stacks topped with dulce de lecheโyes, the kind of caramel sauce that makes you question why you donโt eat pancakes every single day. Pair them with a mimosa (or three), and youโve got yourself a solid Sunday plan.
ALMA, Portobello
Brunch meets soul food at ALMA, a tiny but mighty spot in Portobello that combines Irish ingredients with Argentine flavours. Fun fact: ALMA means โsoulโ in Spanish, but itโs also an acronym for the four daughters in the family who run it (Anabella, Luciana, Macarena, and Agustinaโso cute).
Now, their dulce de leche pancakes deserve a standing ovation. Weโre talking buttermilk pancakes loaded with rich dulce de leche, brandy and orange mascarpone, seasonal fruits, and a sprinkle of toasted almonds. Itโs basically a dessert disguised as breakfast, and Iโm 100% okay with that.
Since this place is tiny, I highly recommend getting there early or booking ahead. Otherwise, you might end up standing outside, jealously watching other people devour their pancakes through the window.
Roots, Monkstown
For those who love their brunch with a side of sea air, Roots is the place to be. Located right by Monkstown Train & Dart station, this food van is the perfect pit stop for a post-swim coffee and a healthy but delicious breakfast.
Roots was set up by two lads who clearly know their stuff. Their acai bowls are packed with fresh fruit, granola, and all the good stuff, making them the perfect option if you want to balance out all the pancakes and eggs from the rest of this list. And if you need a caffeine fix, their coffee is also amazing.
Final Thoughts
Dublin is packed with incredible spots for brunch, and these are just five of my favourites. Whether youโre after something sweet, savoury, healthy, or downright indulgent, these restaurants in Dublin have got you covered.
So grab a friend, clear your schedule, and start ticking them off your listโbecause no one ever regrets spending their money on brunch in Dublin.
